Bonneville Speed Week, held each August at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, is the premier event in land speed racing, drawing competitors from around the world to run everything from hot rods to streamliners in pursuit of records. Organized by Bonneville Nationals Inc., the week-long event offers six days of high-speed racing (weather permitting), with spectators welcome to explore the pits and meet teams. The remote, sunbaked location demands prep—hat, sunscreen, shade, and a camera are must-haves. It’s a sensory overload of speed, sound, and salt that keeps fans and racers coming back for more—what many call “Salt Fever.”

What is Shotgun Racer?
The name, Shotgun Racer, draws inspiration from the term ‘riding shotgun,’ which originated in the American Wild West. This term referred to the person sitting in the front passenger seat of a stagecoach or wagon, armed with a shotgun. Over time, it has evolved to symbolize sitting in the front passenger seat of any vehicle. It reflects our desire to get closer to the action, diving into the world of motorsports, exploring cars, drivers, and their shared history.
